The KHR-2HV humanoid robot is an exciting, new robot from Kondo of Japan.
It is 34cm tall and weighs approximately 1.2kg.
The KHR-2HV is driven by 17 servos that provide 17 degrees of freedom (DOF):
5 in each leg, 3 in each arm, and 1 for its head.
With 17 DOFs, the KHR-2HV has a remarkable range of motions. Some examples are:
| • walking |
• running |
• back somersaults |
• forward somersaults |
• push ups |
• cartwheels |
• step climbing |
• football kicking |
• martial arts |
• dancing |
The KHR-2HV has a serial to USB interface that provides a connection to a host
computer. The host can be used for target motion editing using the supplied
software application or to execute any user-developed, higher-level
application.
Between the wonderful motion capabilities of this robot, along with the
PC interface, the KHR-2HV provides an excellent, relatively inexpensive
research platform.
The KHR-2HV robot is from Kondo Kagaku Co.,LTD of Japan.
