Subject: Project Botxing™
Date: April 28, 2005

RoadNarrows LLC has completed the first 2 months of research & development on the Botxing™ project.

The focus of Project Botxing™ is to develop a set of open source software packages that will enable autonomous robot navigation in controlled outdoor environments (e.g. robotic competitions). Botxing™ will use vision as the primary sourse of sensor information. GPS and odometer sensors will also be used to correlate sensor data with the vision subsystem.

The vision system, code name eyeballs, will initially use inexpensive web camera(s) as video sources. Eyeballs will be a multithreaded, multiprocessor capable system that will ultimately model Computational Grids for computationally intensive research.

The competency of the Botxing™ software will be tested on real robotic hardware in various lab, outdoor, and competition environments.
